Random pics from last day in S.D. .......

Yesterday and today we devoted our time to finding 3 small cemeteries within 5 miles of this little town of Vale, SD (Pop. 114). We found all 3 with no problem. When we needed a break we drove into the town & lo and behold there was a little, little grocery store and they had a little, little cafe in the back of store! Yesterday their lunch special was "Indian Tacos" & they were really good. Today we stopped a little earlier & were the only ones there & she fixed us a very good breakfast - the coffee was good, too!! Both times we were in there, the people were very friendly & were quite interested & helpful when we told them what we were doing.

Cemetery #1 - the founder of the town of Vale, Andrew Rosander is buried here.

This stone is not his, but someone had painted it white - supposedly to make it easier to read. But never, never, never do this .... it doesn't age well with the stone & there's nothing you can do to make it more readable.

The Wilson Cemetery had many, many of these shedded "snakeskins!!! I was very nervous in this cemetry & was very glad to be through!!

We didn't photograph this entire cemetery - we've run out of time, but we enjoy stopping at any of the National Cemeteries to take a look.

Spearfish, SD had a Lehman Trike plant .... that's where they take a 2-wheel motorcycle & convert it to a 3-wheel "Trike". The little sign says, "Trike Parking Only - Violators Will Be Converted"!!! ..... hoping, hoping, hoping!!!!!

Then today we saw these 3 trikes while we were at a stop sign. I was so excited that I almost didn't get my pictures!! John already has the beard, so ...................
