This little "Mama Killdeer" was in the middle of a cemetery here in Texas and when we got close to her, she made all kinds of racket & really fluffed up her feathers.
Thinking she had a nest nearby, we gave her a wide berth, but I took this picture with my zoom. When I downloaded it & looked more closely, I spotted the black-speckled eggs under her!!
