We left Froid & headed to Illinois & these are some of the sights we saw along the way. These pretty little birds (I'm not a bird person, so can't name them) we saw at a visitor's center along the route.
We had lunch here in Rugby, ND ... the "Geographical Center of North America".
The "family that bikes together, stays together"! We saw them along a patch of road construction. There has been lots & lots of road construction all over it seems. Is this where our "stimulus" dollars are going??
We stayed a couple of nights in Shelby, Iowa and this windmill was in one of the next little towns, Elk Horn. It was a surprise to see it. It was brought from Denmark in pieces & reconstructed here.

.... the stairs down from the 3rd level!! I went up but didn't like the height, etc & pretty much just backed right back down!
This was outside the windmill and museum. We don't see many of these in our travels.
Now this was fun!! On our way to a little country cemetery outside of Shelby, Iowa, a little town of Trenton looked like it was real busy so we pulled into town to check it out. We found this "garden tractor" pull going on. We had never seen one before so stayed awhile to watch. I know some of you know all about these or have even participated but this was new to us.

My favorite tractor .... John Deere .... and look at him go!!!
