We spent a day at "Loretta Lynn's Ranch" at Hurricane Mills, TN, near Nashville. We didn't get to the "Grand Ole Opry" because that's on the week end & we didn't stay that long in Nashville.
This is Loretta's Plantation Mansion. We took a tour of the bottom floor of the house. Couldn't take pictures inside the house though. Nobody lives in the house anymore, but Loretta & her husband Moon Lynn raised their family of 6 kids here.
This is a very beautiful area & the Lynn's own 6,500 acres here & have turned most of it over to the public. There is a Museum, a simulated coal mine (since she is the "Coal Miners Daughter!), several gift stores, a replica of her home from Butcher Holler, KY.
This little mule was in the pasture behind the house. Oh, yes, there was also a Cemetery back there! The original owner of the Plantation were the Andersons back in the early 1800's.
This Grist Mill was just across from the house & made a beautiful senery picture from the front of the house.
Then just down the road from Loretta's Ranch, her youngest daughter, Cissie Lynn, & her husband John Beams have a Country Store. We stopped there for lunch & had a "fresh" Fried Bologna Sandwich!!!! It was really good. Of course, I like Bologna anyway.
Cissie Lynn & her husband, John Beams were so very gracious & friendly. Although we didn't get to see Loretta, we told Cissie to tell her Mom a couple of fans wished her well. She said she would, but .........
