Organ Pipe Cactus Nat'l Monument

Spent a day at Organ Pipe Cactus Nat'l Monument. A wonderful day and beautiful, beautiful forest of cactus ... not many flowering, but beautiful nonetheless.

We did not realize how close we were to the Mexican border when we drove to Lukeville, just 5 miles from the Park. But there was a restaurant next to the border station ... on the American side, so we had a very good Mexican lunch there.

The town of Ajo on the way to the Park was a very quaint town with a good Museum. There was an open pit mine there that had been mined for over 80 years, but ceased operations in the 1980's.
