Fun in Deming, NM

Our time in Deming, NM was most enjoyable. We had met these folks in Yuma while visiting my sister & they invited us to look them up when we got to Deming. Jack & Neda (on the left) live in Deming & Doris & Buddy (Jack's brother) were visiting there also.  The evenings were spend visiting & we learned to play Farkel & "31", both fun games. They also Jeep, so we had the following very fun Jeep trip into the mountains outside of Deming.
One day they took us to a "community" auction and I got caught up & bid on this box to get the coffee grinder. Also in the box was the pretty little pitcher & the chicken - not bad!

Here are the Jeeps lined up to take the trip.
Some beautiful blooming cactus that we saw while on the drive.

Even caught a busy bee on the ocotilla.  There were hundreds of blooming ocotilla bushes in bloom.

Some of the "roads" were just the creek beds along the way. But we really trusted our "wagon master" to get us through!  He'd been here before.
 The drivers, discussing strategy!
 Hiking up to the petroglyphs.

Why did we leave the Jeeps so far away???!!!
I was told this was bull snake - completely harmless!  John took the picture!
One of the mine shafts we saw. A lonnnnnng way down ... careful, Neda!
