Kansas ......

In St. Joseph, MO - the Hotel & Pony Express Office. It was a wonderful museum.

The old horse-drawn hearses are always of interest to us!!

This was also in the museum and was especially interesting because we just left Illinois & where we were was just a few miles from where Robert Wadlow was born & lived.

Jesse James house was next to the Museum.

.... and this was beside the house ....

The museum assured us that all the bodies were moved to the City Cemetery before it was bulldozed!

Then we drove down to Mead, Kansas to the Dalton Gang Hideout. This was fun, too.

Between the house & the barn, there was a tunnel built ... for a quick getaway for the outlaws. The house belonged to Eva Dalton Whipple, a sister the Dalton Boys.

The tunnel was a very comfortable 6' high and lined with rocks, so was very easy walking. But in the Dalton Gang time, the tunnel was dirt and only about 3-4 ft high.
