Our last cemetery adventure for this year .... It's an old cemetery in Greene Co., Illinois with about 80 stones. Of those 80, there were probably 40 that were overturned and laying flat on the ground. Most of them we could read or at least turn them over if they were face down because they were small. But there were several that were too big & too heavy for us to move. A curious bypasser stopped to see what we were doing & he got very interested when we told him about the heavy fallen stones. He wanted to help so he got another man with a backhoe & they met us there yesterday.

They did such an awesome job and they were so careful with the stones. They ended up resetting 4 stones - 2 others could not be reset because the bottom of the stone was not smooth & straight but had a chunk out of it. Hopefully, after we leave, they will continue to work on this cemetery.
