We spent a day driving into the New Mexico mountains just north of Las Cruces in search of a couple of cemeteries.
At about 8,000 ft. I had a hard time getting John out of the car .... he thought it was too cold to be out there just standing to get his picture taken!!
We were rewarded with this nice herd of elk. The male had a nice rack of horns, too.
And this is also Apache country.
When we found the cemetery, John got warmed up pretty quick when he had to clear away the limbs & grass from this stone, so I could get a picture.
