Another beautiful spot in Wisconsin is here at little Rib Falls. There's no longer a town here, just a few houses (and of course a bar!) but this is the area where my Grandma Tillie Luebke was born.

I guess this is where the name Rib Falls came from - a pretty little falls in the Rib River right near the town.

This is the Rib Falls Methodist Cemetery out in the country where so many of my relatives are buried. In fact, the cemetery has about 255 burials and around 45 of them are related to me!

This is my Great-Great-Grandfather: Christian Friedrich Wilhelm Weber who was born in 1824; immigrated to America in 1856 and died in 1867 from an injury to his leg that he got from chopping wood. It became infected & killed him. He left his widow with 6 children, the youngest was 6 mos. old. My great-grandmother was 17 and the oldest boy was only 10. A very tough life for them to survive but there were many other relatives there & neighbors who helped out. This stone was not there when we were he 4 years ago so evidently it was unearthed & reset in cement. You can see that the death date is missing.

And this is my Great-Great-Grandmother: Fredricke Wilhelmine (Rieman) Weber. She was known as "Muttie", which in German is Grandmother.

When we were here 4 years ago we were taken to the Weber homeplace and this year I couldn't find it on my own! So I dug this photo out of my archives. The farm is still being worked by a Weber offspring.

This is the entire Weber family (minus Papa, of course). My great-grandmother is 3rd from the left - she married Henry Wilde & they moved their family to SD
