This is John's great-nephew, Mark, and his "winning" horse, "
Annie". They took first in this race. The County Fair itself was a huge disappointment. Even though it goes for 5 days, if you don't get there on the day things are judged, you don't get to see any of the animals or arts and crafts. Everyone takes their stuff home right after the judging. No longer is it a family affair where the 4-H kids stay all 5 days with their animals.
"Annie", the winner and all the "family". John is on the right next to his sister-in-law, Dorothy. Then working to the left: Karen (niece & Dorothys daughter), Chloe, Peggy, Cody, Phillip, & Mark (owners of Annie). Mark is Karen's son. I thoroughly enjoyed the harness races & I picked 8 winners out of 12 races!! Of course, there was no money bet but it was fun to guess.
